Looking for the holy grail of mascaras
I'm a cosmetics junkie and I'm proud of it! They say the first step to dealing with addictions is to admit it. I have spent more money than I care to admit to spending on cosmetics. After 15 years I am still on the hunt for the holy grail of mascaras, though. I think I've just about got the rest down pat. The biggest lesson I've learned throughout this 'ordeal' is that it doesn't have to have an expensive price tag to be a good product!
I'll give you an example...I bought Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse the other day and I absolutely love it. The colour is perfect for me. I have yellow undertones to my skin and always battle to find a foundation that is natural and doesn't look too pink on me. The colour I tried is Ivory and it's absolutely amazing. It glides on silky smooth and doesn't look caked on. It's got a real glow to it that made me look healthy and my skin was flawless. I didn't put concealer on and you could still see a couple of blemishes but not unless you really knew where they were to start with. Seriously...I only had it on for an hour and the compliments were flooding in. My sister said that I looked beautiful. Really! I'll definitely be using this again.
So there's a great example of a product that seriously isn't expensive yet is up there with the best foundations I've ever used.
Having just said that, I digress...I have tried just about every mascara that is on the market and I'm still looking for one that looks good. No clumping, even colour and doesn't make my eyelashes look flat. Thing is, I curl my eyelashes with good old Shu Uemura eyelash curlers (another best buy I should add) but because they're quite long, as soon as I put more than one coat of mascara on, they start drooping. The bane of my existence!
I have just ordered Chanel's Inimitable Intense mascara as it apparently curls your lashes for you AND I read it was the number 1 mascara to try. So watch this space and I'll let you know how it goes.
